FAQs

Getting Started

What services do you offer?

1

I offer mental health therapy as a licensed clinical social worker, and a variety of yoga instruction including both classes and private sessions.

Do you offer in-person or online sessions?

2

I offer therapy online only at this time. Private yoga instruction can be held either online or in person. In-person yoga sessions take place at Yoga on Beacon, in Seattle’s Beacon Hill neighborhood.

How do I get started? What’s the process for becoming a client?

3

Please complete the contact form and I will be in touch if I have a time slot that aligns with your availability. Once we connect, I’ll provide any necessary intake paperwork and guide you through the next steps.

What can I expect in the first therapy session?

4

Before your first therapy session, you’ll complete intake paperwork through a secure online portal. I review this in advance so that when we meet, I already have a sense of your history, what brings you here, and your goals for our work together.

The first session will be a comprehensive assessment of your current concerns, your history, and what you hope to achieve. While it may feel more structured than future sessions, it’s still a collaborative process where your voice is central. All therapy sessions are 55 minutes.

How often will we meet, and how long are sessions?

5

For therapy, most clients meet weekly or every other week at the beginning. Many transition to less frequent sessions as they progress, based on their goals and pace. All therapy sessions are 55 minutes.

For private yoga instruction, the frequency depends on your goals. Some students choose a single session to spot-check posture, while others engage in ongoing sessions for more long-term objectives. All yoga sessions are 60 minutes.

Is therapy confidential?

6

Yes. What you share in therapy is private and protected by law, with a few exceptions related to safety. I’ll review confidentiality in detail during your first session so you know what to expect.

Practical & Financial

Do you take insurance? How much does a session cost?

1

I do not bill insurance for therapy at this time, which allows us greater freedom to explore your experiences. If you would like to use your insurance, I can provide a detailed superbill for you to submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan.

Therapy sessions are $150 per 55-minute session.

Private yoga instruction is $80 per 60-minute session, and an additional $15 studio rental fee may apply.

Payment is due at the time of the session, and I accept digital payments through a secure online platform.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

2

I offer a limited number of sliding scale appointments for therapy clients only. Please share your interest in a sliding scale session on the contact form.

Where are you located?

3

I am based in Seattle, WA. In-person yoga instruction takes place at Yoga on Beacon in the Beacon Hill neighborhood.

Visit my Yoga Classes page to learn more about weekly in person classes.

Do you work with clients outside of Washington State?

4

I can offer yoga sessions to clients anywhere in the world. Therapy is limited to clients residing in Washington State due to licensing regulations.

Approach & Experience

What is your approach to therapy and yoga?

1

My approach is collaborative, intuitive, and embodied. I view therapy and yoga as complementary paths that help you connect with your mind, body, and inner experience. Healing is about integrating the past to create a more peaceful present, and sessions are tailored to your unique needs and strengths.

In therapy, we explore your concerns at your pace, using evidence-based tools alongside curiosity and reflection. In yoga, we move mindfully, using posture, breath, and meditation to support your well-being. Together, these practices help you reconnect with yourself in a holistic way.

I have an injury or health condition β€” is yoga safe for me?

2

Your yoga sessions will be tailored to your individual needs. Injuries and physical limitations are common, and we will work together to ensure your practice is safe and supportive. If you have serious medical concerns, it’s always wise to consult your healthcare provider first.

Does yoga involve physical touch?

3

Touch is optional and used only if it feels safe and helpful to you. Physical touch can help you connect with your body, relieve tension, and support awareness. I always explain what I plan to do and ask for your consent before any touch occurs.
